Job Description

The Entry Level NDE Technician is responsible for performing various non-destructive tests and evaluations for acceptance or rejection according to written instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Non-Destructive Examinations including - Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Visual & Dimensional Inspection, Hardness Testing and Positive Material Identification.
  • Prepare and record electronic inspection reports.
  • Review and understand order requirements, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare and perform post weld heat treating operations.
  • Perform inspection operations, ability to identify problem areas and nonconformances.
  • Handle parts, denote nonconformances and document and reject parts as required.
  • Use of forklift (propane and standing electric) and other warehouse equipment.
  • Significant overtime and weekend work required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-hour shifts.
  • Must be able lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience in material handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • NDE Inspector – ANST SNT-TC-1A Level I or II preferred but not required.
  • Valve, Piping, and / or oil & gas industry experience is a plus.
