The Entry Level NDE Technician is responsible for performing various non-destructive tests and evaluations for acceptance or rejection according to written instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform Non-Destructive Examinations including - Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Visual & Dimensional Inspection, Hardness Testing and Positive Material Identification.
- Prepare and record electronic inspection reports.
- Review and understand order requirements, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare and perform post weld heat treating operations.
- Perform inspection operations, ability to identify problem areas and nonconformances.
- Handle parts, denote nonconformances and document and reject parts as required.
- Use of forklift (propane and standing electric) and other warehouse equipment.
- Significant overtime and weekend work required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-hour shifts.Must be able lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.Basic computer skills.Experience in material handling.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as a team.Excellent written and verbal communication.Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.NDE Inspector – ANST SNT-TC-1A Level I or II preferred but not required.Valve, Piping, and / or oil & gas industry experience is a plus.
