Electric Materials is looking to hire a skilled CNC Programmer to create and manage programs for all our CNC equipment .

Position Description

A CNC Programmer is responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and proving out a program and setup for all operators. The CNC Programmer will also be required to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process.

To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, one should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC Programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the customer.

Essential Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models
Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for each job
Adjust machine settings to the desired product specifications
Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process
Train staff on machine and program setup
Work towards continuous improvement in all facets of the programming and manufacturing process
Work with the engineering team to come up with a manufacturing plan for each product

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

5 years machining experience in a CNC environment

Fluent with G-Code

Experience with Esprit or a similar CAM software

Experience with Mazatrol

Ability to read and interpret design blueprints

High level of understanding on cutting tools and the attributes that make them perform

Ability to choose the correct cutting tools for the application

Good math skills (Geometry and Trigonometry)

Works well with others

Ability to work unsupervised

Excellent problem-solving skills

Good use of imagination to utilize advance machining concepts

Preferred Experience

2-5 years experience with the following software :

Esprit

Mazatrol

AutoCAD

SolidWorks

FactoryWiz

Cutting Tool Training

Carbide manufacturer
