Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and / or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Certifications : Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Physical requirements / demands : Position requires individuals to push, pull, and / or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties Unit Information : OB / GYN (5B) Woman's Surgical is a 32-bed unit providing care for post-partum, mother / baby couplets and medical-surgical patients. Patients served include various GYN conditions, GYN / Oncology, Obstetrical Complications, and Mother / Baby Couplets. Our medical / surgical population consists of various GYN surgical procedures, bariatric weight loss surgical procedures, colon resections and other minor colon surgeries, and general medical patients. Nurse to patient ratios is 1 : 5-6 and PCA to patient ratios 1 : 6-8. All staff work 12-hour shifts, 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, which includes alternating weekends and holidays.
