Job Description
SherlockTalent is looking for a Lead Engineer-Back End for a rapidly growing fintech team.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Help set the strategic direction and technical architecture roadmap across Consumer Lending
- Build a world-class back-end engineering team by recruiting, onboarding and training new engineers
- Lead back-end engineering team in the technical development of new products
- Foster a culture of ownership, inclusiveness, urgency, and accountability
- Ship exciting new products to benefit consumers in an accelerated timeline
- Partner closely with cross functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Product, Data, Analytics, Marketing and other leaders to build and launch new products
- Use strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills with data-driven approach to enable decision-making
- Identify and break down complex business problems into solvable pieces that can be assigned to engineers and shipped modularly
- Cultivate career and performance growth through engaging, continuous dialogue with direct reports
- Track and monitor product performance against targets
- Adhere to the Company’s Compliance Standards
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment

QUALIFICATIONS :
Knowledge / experience in back-end engineering at fintech (payments), ecommerce or marketplace at a fast-growing companyExperience architecting and designing secure and highly available systems at scaleAbility to create and execute against a product engineering roadmap driving significant business and consumer impactAbility to work and communicate cross-functionally; collaborate & influence as part of a teamCollaborative in team environments but also able to act autonomously as a decision-makerAnalytical curiosity and experience using data to identify issues and determine actionsAbility to hire / manage to build out a team with a strong team cultureAbility to take “full ownership” of issues until they are completely resolved, and processes put in place to prevent recurrence.Experience delivering products at scale in an agile mannerExpertise with Java (or JVM-based languages) and related frameworksExperience with cloud architectures and tools (AWS preferred)Ability to lead multiple teams and managers within a high-growth organization10+ years of hands-on engineering experience4+ years managing and growing back-end engineering teamsWe love to share $1,000 bonuses for successful referralsNo C2C at this time.
