Job Title : Asst Manager of Operations - GCT Containers Department(s) : 5007 - COPS Yard & Vessel Location(s) : Garden City Terminal FLSA Status : Exempt
JOB OVERVIEW : Under the supervision of the Container Yard Manager, the Assistant Manager of Operations directly supervises, plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates all Container Operations service departments and personnel.
Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
JOB DUTIES :
JOB REQUIREMENTS : Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to schedule, organize, and supervise the work of subordinates.Ability to exercise prompt independent judgment.Ability to learn and manage the GPA computer systems.Excellent oral, written, and listening skills required.Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels as well as customers, representatives of the shipping industry, and the general public required.
