Chief Technology Officer

SkyWater, a family‑owned manufacturer and technology innovator, is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its enterprise‑wide technology strategy and digital transformation. With operations spanning multiple sites across North America, this organization combines precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, and proprietary software to deliver industry‑leading building solutions.

The CTO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing enterprise IT, operational technology (OT), cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, and a growing proprietary software platform. This executive will shape the technology vision, modernize infrastructure, and drive innovation that fuels both operational excellence and commercial growth.

We cannot offer sponsorship and require someone to be onsite 5 days / week in the Twin Cities, MN.

Responsibilities

Define and execute a multi‑year technology roadmap supporting growth and scalability.

Modernize IT infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, and enhance cloud architecture.

Champion AI‑enabled applications in design, estimating, and predictive maintenance.

Lead software product strategy and integration across internal and external systems.

Build, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing, cross‑functional technology organization.

Desired Skills And Experience

Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.

20+ years of progressive technology leadership, including 5+ at the executive level.

Background in manufacturing, construction, or industrial technology preferred.

Proven success driving digital transformation across IT, OT, and product platforms.

Hands‑on experience with ERP modernization, AI / ML integration, and BIM / Revit / AutoCAD environments.

Expertise in M&A due diligence and technology integration.

Experience leading a commercial or SaaS software business is a strong plus.

Strategic, forward‑thinking leader with the ability to translate vision into measurable impact.

Must be local to Minnesota.
