Job Duties
- Total Care of the horses and bunnies on the farm to include feeding, watering, grooming, training.
- Overseeing the horseback riding and grooming lessons including complete documentation in eChart.
- Maintaing the farm buildings and arena including grooming the arena with the tractor.
- Working with the interdisciplinary team.
Minimum qualifications
Experience in caring for horsesExperience in providing riding lessons.Basic Computer skillsGood time management skillsPreference may be given for :
Two or more years of experience caring for horsesOne or more years of experience in providing riding lessonsOne or more years experience working with the developmentally and physically disabled individualsThe Agency

Responsibilities
Acting as a resource to team members, participating in team and professional meetings and giving input as to the needs of clients.Ensuring the safety and maintenance of physical areas and equipment used during therapy / treatment.Developing appropriate safety and / or service plans to alleviate risk, provide protection, etc.Inspecting facilities, machinery, equipment, systems, etc., to verify safety, maintenance, conditions, functions, and quality.Detecting, eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.Cleaning, and or disinfecting areas and / or equipment.Ensuring confidentiality for the individuals by directing questions / requests to appropriate parties.Qualifications

Identify developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities.Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally.Obtain and see to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to perform a task.Observe details at close range and at a distance.Observe physical conditions, behavior or surroundings for potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity.Hear sounds that may indicate potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity.Supplemental Information
Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and / or for long periods of time.Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, ; risks which require the use of special safety precautions, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.You must successfully pass a criminal history check.You must be determined eligible for direct patient access to provide services to a vulnerable adult in accordance with#E8Department of Human Resource Management rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current employees.The USDC is a smoke free campus.
