This position is located in the Office of Executive Investigations, Public Corruption / Election Crime Unit North in Orlando (OROC OEI Field Office). This is a full-time position responsible for the handling of election fraud / election crime investigations in the State of Florida.
This position will be located within the Orlando Region. The selected applicant must reside within 50 miles of the Orlando Regional Operations Center. Moving expenses may be approved if you are relocating to OROC from a regional office.
Duties & Responsibilities : Responsible for the review and investigation of complex election fraud / election crime investigations from various origins including but not limited to, the Florida Department of State and Supervisor of Elections. Resolves various complaints made to FDLE which are not immediately subject to investigation by the Office of Executive Investigations. This position may also be called upon to support Public Corruption investigations.
Minimum Qualifications : Five years of sworn law enforcement or sworn investigative experience, one of which must have been in the capacity of a Special Agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of three years of the required experience. Experience as a Special Agent Trainee or a Probationary Special Agent does not count toward the one year of Special Agent experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Knowledge of and ability to utilize legal, acceptable, and effective investigative techniques; Working knowledge and understanding of law, criminal and administrative procedure applicable to general and internal investigations; Working knowledge and understanding of the governmental structure for the state of Florida; Skill in oral and written reporting and documentation; Ability to comprehend and retain critical facts; Ability to verbally communicate results / progress of investigative activity in an effective and efficient manner; Ability to establish investigative goals and objectives and to plan, prioritize, and implement necessary steps to accomplish such; and Ability to demonstrate a professional image in appropriate dress and demeanor and personal interaction.
Base Salary : $67,028.52
Notes : Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and / or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
