Final Inspector / CMM Programmer & Operator

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Final Inspector / CMM Programmer & Operator to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of both received components and final products. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections using a variety of methods, including Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming. The ideal candidate is skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, applying GD&T principles, and has a strong background in dimensional inspection. This role supports both Final Inspectionwhere finished products are evaluated before releaseand Receiving Inspectionwhere incoming parts from suppliers are validated.

What You Will Do

  • Determine inspection requirements based on internal and customer drawings / specifications.
  • Program, validate, and operate CMM systems to perform dimensional inspections.
  • Perform detailed part inspections using GD&T principles.
  • Create, modify, and debug CMM programs using CMM Manager or equivalent software.
  • Log and maintain accurate inspection data for traceability and reporting purposes.
  • Train other team members in CMM operation and programming.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting inspection or measurement issues related to CMM usage.
  • Conduct final inspections using hand tools, gauges, and other measuring systems.
  • Support Receiving Inspection by verifying compliance of supplier parts to specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management.
  • This position requires successful completion of a post-offer vision examination to assess visual acuity and color vision annually.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a High School diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational / technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) Inspection and Programming Experience
  • Experience in reading / interpreting drawings, blueprints and / or specifications
  • Experience of GD&T principles and their application in inspection.
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in Aerospace or similarly regulated industries.
  • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Availability to work overtime or weekends as required.

  • The salary rate for this role is $46,592 USD to $87,386 USD. The salary rate provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
