Respiratory Therapist

Salary : $24.00 - $36.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Assess patient lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a gas analyzer.
  • Administer and evaluate respiratory therapies according to the care plan.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, ensuring effective communication with healthcare teams.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, providing life-saving treatments as necessary.
  • Conduct patient and family education on respiratory health, treatment plans, and available community resources.
  • Maintain and sterilize respiratory therapy equipment and ensure proper stock levels of medical supplies.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

  • Active Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care License.
  • Graduation from an accredited CRT or RRT program.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 60 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in a critical care setting.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-stress environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Skills :

  • Expertise in using respiratory care equipment and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinical data.
  • Ability to educate patients and their families on complex medical information.
  • Emergency response and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and quality of care.
