Business Systems Analyst

Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join the team. This candidate must have knowledge of accounting and general ledger in order to assist in a corporate financial reporting project. The ideal candidate will work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to define and refine requirements, troubleshoot performance issues, and deliver rapid prototypes that articulate design vision. This person will conduct UAT testing and manage documentation while writing and maintaining test cases to ensure compliance with change management protocols. The role requires the ability to explain why certain use cases may not be feasible within the current technical design, propose alternative solutions with timelines, and support data governance initiatives. For example, they should be able to be in the room with an accountant, and explain to them; here's why this design may not be applicable, and here's what we could do instead. End-to-end solutioning is key, so this candidate must have strong technical ability. Acting as a technical liaison between Finance and IT, the candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution for complex reporting pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

Ability to sit with accountants, Sr. Controller to articulate design vision and demonstrate rapid prototyping

Strong understanding of data models, DAX coding, SQL coding, and architecture concepts

Microsoft Suite including Power BI

Ability to explain why certain use cases may not be fessible in the current technical design and propose alternative options with timelines

Experience with UAT testing, writing test cases, and documenting change management processes

Familiarity with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and technical governance frameworks

Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business teams

Accounting and General Ledger knowledge

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Exposure to AI governance and enterprise AI strategy development

Experience working for an insurance or reinsurance company
