Hours per Shift : 8 hours M-Th : 6 : 45 AM – 3 : 15 PM; F : 6 : 45 AM – 11 : 30 AM (4-hour day)
Experience : 3+ years
License : NBSTSA, BLS (AHA)
Certifications : BLS (AHA), NBSTSA
Must-Have :
Experience with Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, OB / GYN, Ophthalmic, and Urology required.
Proficient with C-Sections.
Travel experience highly preferred.
Description :
This individual fills the role of surgical technologist in the Operating Room.
The Surgical Technologist I understands and demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures.
They assure that all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition.
This role includes the confirmation and assembly of sterile instruments for use.
The Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
They assist in keeping an accurate account of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges.
Maintaining and monitoring the sterile field is a key responsibility.
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and problem-solving related to the procedure being performed.
Verifies items on the physician preference card.
Accountable for supplies to ensure accurate patient charges.
Demonstrates proper use of equipment, assembly of equipment, disposables, as well as cleaning and sterilizing.
Assures that all equipment, supplies, and instruments are assembled correctly and in working condition for the surgical procedure.
Maintains sterile environments.
Monitors the sterile field and recognizes breaks in technique.
Sets up the sterile field with instruments in a timely manner.
Keeps an accurate account of all medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps on the sterile fields per policy.
One night call per week and one weekend per four-week schedule is required.
This position includes working one weekend every four weeks.
