To provide premier product support and customer service through a focused IPD product line responsibility. This will include performing some marketing / sales activities in support of expanding the IPD business to both new and existing customers, markets, geographies, and possibly channels while using Parker's 80 / 20 concepts.
Scope / Supervision and Interaction : This position will report to the division marketing & sales manager and will interact with internal division departments, channel partners, customers, field sales, and international Parker employees.
Responsibilities :
- Complete product line responsibility (product, promotion, pricing, channel) for a defined portfolio of products.
- Monitors competitors and competitive products. Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response and competitive attack strategies.
- Responsible for developing and implementing product line growth strategies (new / existing customers, new / existing market penetration, new / existing geography, new / existing channel) using 80 / 20 concept.
- Monitors and drives marketing communication needs for product line in support of growth strategies (promotions, catalogs, social media, web presence, etc).
- Investigate market needs for innovative products and work with Engineering to appropriately prioritize product development efforts for the product line.
- Conducts market research through trade associations, internet investigation, and corporate services. Use information to drive growth strategies, product promotions, product development, etc.
- Support field sales and distributors as required to drive sales of the product line and maintain Division's premier customer service position.
- Support new product development team for products in discovery and at or beyond stage 3.
- Develops / performs product line training for field sales, channel, and customers.
- Maintains high level of applications knowledge by continually improving knowledge and knowhow related to a defined portfolio of products.
- Develops and leads IME strategies (existing product innovations / modifications / extensions).
- Ability to travel frequently to customer / channel locations for technical support and training.
- Monitors sales and margin results and tracks and recommends appropriate actions.
- Monitors product and market trends and recommends appropriate actions.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business / Manufacturing discipline or approved equivalent education and experience.2 to 5 years of field sales or related experience. Upstream Oil & Gas, Downstream Chem / Petrochem / Refining and / or Power Gen market is preferred.Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
