Systems Programmer / Developer I

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, develop and maintain administrative computer software programs and systems for the various divisions of Midlands Technical College. Design, code, modify, test, and document computer programs and systems using modern programming tools and advanced design techniques such as Colleague Envision, Java, and .NET. Meet with users to determine system requirements and needs. Resolve processing issues using diverse technical support resources and systems analysis techniques and train system users. Assist users in creating reports from diverse data sources using industry standard tools such as Power BI and SQL. Install, configure, and administer application software on test servers to facilitate user testing of critical systems. Translate user requirements into application program functional requirements and write user instructions, testing plans, and technical specifications.

This position is located onsite on the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience in computer programming. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

An associate’s degree and one year of experience is preferred. Knowledge of Colleague Envision Tool Kit, Java, NET, SQL, Power BI and AIX UNIX.
