Overview
The CAD Designer supports the Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Operations and Technical Support II (WSOTS II) program located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position captures and updates baselined Plant in Place (PiP) documentation at the Wideband SATCOM Operations Centers (WSOC) and Regional SATCOM Support Centers (RSSC). This position requires domestic and international travel up to 25% and is not eligible to work remotely or from home.
Responsibilities
Physical configuration capture, review, and redlining Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) technical documentation, which includes :
Equipment specifications
Subsystem circuit characteristics
Wiring power panel systems
Subsystem connection diagrams
Rack elevations at various CONUS and Outside the Continental U.S. (OCONUS) customer site locations
Other duties include but are not limited to :
Perform system analysis of the Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS) for the purposes of documenting system configurations within the PiP drawing packages
Produce technical writing
Collect and enter data
Support supervising final assembly of document
Help ensure delivery of final technical document per schedule
Edit trip reports as requested
Candidates exhibit the following desired characteristics :
Maintain attention to detail across multiple technical data sections
Possess skill in prioritization and multi-tasking
Able to use process control to ensure data integrity
Qualifications
Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred and will be required at a later date
Some experience with AutoCAD required
Preferred Qualifications
The best qualified candidates would preferably have experience at any of the five WSOCs or four management sites.
Experience with IT, networking, telecommunications, and radio
