Job Description Summary

The part-time research analyst will assist principal and co-investigators of multiple research grant projects in aggregating research data sources manage these aggregates and analyze data to ensure accuracy by comparison of data against original data addition the part-time research analyst will be responsible for development of record-keeping procedures particularly for the identification of electronic data and the organization of research records.

Job Description

Job Duties :

35% - Works with research personnel to identify multiple research datasets particularly electronic databases located on multiple research lab computers and MUSC servers and develop plans to compile data into one cohesive data source. Work must be performed while being mindful of both state and federal privacy guidelines particularly the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

35% - Works with research personnel to ensure that compiled data are accurate as compared to original data sources. Sourcing will entail working with proprietary software related to research medical devices Microsoft products REDCap older software such as Lotus and paper records. Will develop and implement methods and procedures to use source material to check accuracy of data entered in an SQL database with a Microsoft Access front end.

25% - Development of record-keeping procedures for the ongoing identification of electronic databases.

5% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements : A high school diploma and two years work experience as a Statistical and Research Analyst I.. A bachelors degree with mathematics and / or statistics courses may be substituted for the required work experience.
