What you will be doing :

  • Perform service and regular preventative maintenance work on conveyor systems including fabricate, install and repair conveyor systems as planned while keeping appropriate maintenance records.
  • Test and trouble shoot problems with equipment, conveyors, sortation system, carton erectors, shrink sleeve applicator machine, facility systems (plumbing, electrical), and anything else associated with the operation of a distribution facility
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
  • Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment as necessary
  • Troubleshoot micro controllers like Omron, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Siemens PLCs with the ability to identify correct I / O points as well as match the addressing with machine schematic
  • Evaluate, detect and report equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions
  • This position supports a 24 / 7 environment and requires on-call coverage after normal business hours and on weekends.
  • Other Duties as required and assigned

Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent analytical / problem solving skills required.
  • PC literate with proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, Excel
  • Have a good working knowledge of safety circuits, relays, interlocks and E-stop circuits
  • Ability to operate on ladders and elevated lifts, as needed to reach work areas up to 60ft above ground level
  • Able to lead a team effectively and build strong relationships with employees, customers and other department managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, metric-driven environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
