Position Summary

Responsibilities include analyzing blueprints specifications and other documentation to prepare time cost and labor estimates for sheet metal and machined parts and components. Creates and maintains manufacturing cost estimates and proposals utilizing Routings and Bills of Materials for production of Aerospace components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate all engineering data and information to assess producibility
• Review parts lists drawings and other data to determine manufacturing requirements including outside processing (heat treat etc.) material labor and tooling and prepares itemized lists of those requirements
• Prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning organizing and scheduling work preparing bids and determining cost effectiveness of make / buy analyses
• Makes recommendations to improve the manufacturing process and when appropriate supports LEAN Manufacturing activities
• Analyze variances between estimated cost and actual cost to effectively evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of the utilized estimating parameters.
• Develop cost estimating tools utilizing Excel.
• Provide cost breakdowns and complete bid forms when requested by customers or business leadership
• Communicates with Customer on issues when required.

Pay Transparency

The salary information is a general guideline only. A wide range of factors are considered when extending an offer such as job-related knowledge and skills qualifications education / training key skills as well as market and business considerations. Other forms of pay (e.g. bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and other benefits dependent on the position offered.
