Position : SQL DBA L3

Location : Richmond, VA

Job Description :

• Provide L3 support for SQL Server and other database platforms hosted on-premises and in Azure, including performance tuning, backup / restore, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and optimize Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and other Azure data services (e.g., Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL / MySQL).
• Design, implement, and maintain HA / DR solutions using Always On, Geo-replication, and Azure Site Recovery.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Azure CLI to streamline database operations and deployments.
• Utilize tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Query Store to proactively monitor and optimize database performance.
• Implement and maintain database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control in compliance with organizational policies.
• Act as the escalation point for critical database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Work closely with DevOps, application teams, and architects to support database needs and maintain comprehensive documentation
• Stay updated with the latest Azure and database technologies, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
