job_description.job_card.job_descriptionFrames, studs, weld wire assemblies Saw cutting, drilling beams, and hole prep Read and interpret detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and steel layouts Perform high-quality welding using SMAW, GMAW, and / or GTAW processes Fit, align, and tack structural members with precision Work closely with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace Coordinate with the Parts Department for material readiness and workflow optimization Minimum 4 years of experience as a Welder / Fitter in a structural steel fabrication environment Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints and layout plans Skilled in using burn tables, saws, drills, welders , and other fabrication tools Strong understanding of fitting techniques , layout, and material preparation Self-motivated , dependable, and safety-focused Must supply your own welding gear and personal protective equipment (PPE) Must have reliable transportation and a solid attendance record Prior experience in a fabrication or steel shop environment is a strong advantage Welding certifications (AWS, etc.) are a plus but not required Must comply with all shop safety standards and protocols
