Marcus & Millichap is seeking a Copy Editor to join its industry-leading Research Services team in Phoenix. We are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for delivering high-quality, insightful research reports and articles that our clients can use to make better-informed investment decisions.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as final gatekeeper by reviewing a variety of research reports to ensure high quality and error-free deliverables across North America.
- Copyedit and proofread research materials for clarity, grammar, consistency, accuracy, and tone.
- Abridge content to fit within size restrictions
- Proofread and edit charts and graphs that appear in CRE research products.
- Recommend edits based on knowledge of target audience as well as internal conventions and style guide (AP style)
- Serve as a resource to help coach and guide Research Analysts to improve their writing skills
- Coordinate process flow to maximize department throughput and ensure all tasks are completed on time
- Develop and maintain department style guides and documentation
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or related field preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent grammar and syntaxExceptional attention to detail, process orientation, and organizational skillsCapability to manage unpredictable workload and meet established deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment to complete projects accurately and on timeDesire to coordinate production schedules, track deliverables, solve problems and escalate issues where appropriateCommunicate and collaborate in a team settingIn-depth knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and AP style guideProficient in Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, and MS Office
