Summary :

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Anchorage, AK branch has an opening for Shipping Clerk.

Regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. Overtime including working on weekends may be required.

The primary focus of this position is to provide courteous and professional assistance to customers picking up will call orders, which includes manual picking of orders from the manufacturing floor and actively loading trucks with a forklift. Additionally, this position assists the Shipping Supervisor various daily activities.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) :

• Coordinating and controlling all aspects of the shipping area, including safely operating a forklift to load Metal Sales multi-stop trucks and customer will calls as they come in
• Professionally assisting will call customers by accurately locating orders, informing them of Metal Sales loading, and answering any questions
• Assisting with picking of will call orders and properly filing active orders that are pending customer pick-up
• Communicating with Metal Sales’ Customer Service Reps on orders with problems or issues that cannot initially be resolved by the Shipping Clerk
• Coordinating Metal Sales truck delivery and contract carrier order sorting, loading, organizing, filing, and routing.
• Assisting Customer Service Reps with order changes and POD inquiries
• Maintaining necessary data and information to accurately produce reports as requested by management
• Assisting with other responsibilities and departments needs as warranted
