POSITION : Equipment Operator

REPORTS TO : Operations Supervisor

LOCATION : Fresno, CA

PAY RANGE : $20.00 - $30.00 / per hour, DOE

BASIC FUNCTIONS :

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various pieces of mobile equipment. Operators will load / unload trucks and trailers, move material around the facility, and / or feed material to recovery sort lines, grinders, chippers, crushers, and much more.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Operate various loaders, excavators, skid steers, water trucks, forklifts, and other equipment around the facility.
  • Responsible for the safety of all staff, contractors, and visitors on site while operating equipment.
  • Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is safe and operational at all times.
  • Perform formal pre and post inspections and complete accurate inspection reports in writing.
  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material.
  • Communicate with spotters to ensure the safety of all customers, team-members, and drivers in the yard.
  • Ensure that all related documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor outbound loads to ensure trucks are being loaded to the required weight and make sure trucks are being loaded in a timely manner
  • Assist in various cleanup projects with and / or without equipment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) :

  • Two year of related experience operating equipment
  • Highly self - motivated with ability to complete tasks
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime and / or weekends when needed
  • Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting with exposure to various weather conditions, dust, odors, noise,
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Bilingual; English / Spanish-Preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and write in English-Preferred but not required
