Reporting to the Coordinator, the Inpatient / Ambulatory Clerk contributes to organizational day to day support on an inpatient unit by acting as the main communication link, supporting the admission / discharge function, taking appropriate action within scope of role when actioning patient care orderables, maintaining patient health records and completing general clerical tasks.

Rate of Pay : $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour

Regular Part-Time & Temporary Part-Time available

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a health care office assistant certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the Hospital.
• Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Electronic Patient Record, Workload Measurement
• Previous experience working with Patient Registration preferred
• Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to detail
• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
