About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Specialty : High Risk Antepartum

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Nights

Hours per Shift : 36.00

Experience : Minimum of one year of experience in antepartum or Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

License : Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License.

Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Must-Have : Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications required upon hire.

Description :

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.

Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.

Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.

Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients.

Observe physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary.

Administer medication as prescribed.

Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.

Deliver patient care competently.

Interact with family and patient in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at discharge.

Inform patient and family of hospital procedures.

Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.

Delegate tasks to support staff.

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required.

Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services is necessary.

Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.

Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.

Some computer skills are required.

Preferred Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a board-approved program.

Preferred Skills and Experience : None specified.
