Engineering Technical Director Conveyance Systems

AECOMs Water Business Line is seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Technical Director for our growing Pipeline Design Practice with a home base in New England.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated team member to work on a variety of water distribution wastewater collection and stormwater treatment and conveyance projects as an Engineering Technical Director.  It is expected that this role will provide support to projects throughout the Northeast US.  The position is flexible between our Boston MA Chelmsford MA Rocky Hill CT or Providence RI office and is a hybrid position.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large diameter conveyance pipelines for water wastewater and / or stormwater design analysis installation inspection and leak detection in dense urban settings. The preferred candidate will be energetic and have a proven ability to lead a team of engineers and designers to deliver successful projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Lead a team of engineers and designers in the design and engineering of large diameter pipeline projects from conception to completion.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop and review design and construction plans specifications and cost estimates.
• Evaluate and improve the selection and / or modification of standard techniques procedures criteria and systems for conveyance projects.
• Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as Basis of Design report and technical memorandums to support project delivery.
• Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Assist senior engineers / designers with developing and managing the project scope budget staffing and schedule.
• Stay current on industry trends and advancements in pipeline design and engineering.
• Assess trends in the marketplace lead strategy and assist proposal development with support from local and national staff to capture expanded suite of services AECOM can offer clients.
• Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required.
