Are you ready to lead a team of Data Analysts and Data Scientists? As a Manager, Systems Engineering at Spectrum, your leadership will be instrumental in developing analytical and Machine Learning (ML) approaches for interpreting and qualifying raw Internet and Wi-Fi telemetry. Your group will focus on identifying potential issues affecting customer experience, enabling proactive diagnostics, and working to improve network reliability. Qualified candidates will need a strong technical foundation in data science, analytical approaches, network telemetry, and leadership experience.

WHAT OUR MGR, SYSTEMS ENGINEER ENJOY THE MOST

  • Manage and mentor a team of technical data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers in building models that help assess the quality and consistency of internet and Wi-Fi services to customers.
  • Define and engage the team to work on set priorities, drive execution of assigned tasks, and ensure all work is aligned to company objectives.
  • Coordinate preparation of the capital and operating budget process and monitor activity throughout the year to ensure capital and operating expenses are controlled according to the budgeted plan to meet or exceed annual cash flow, including negotiating with contractors and vendors to achieve bids within budget.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of ML-driven analytic models that detect network performance issues and anomalies for further analysis or action.
  • Ensure that the data pipelines and feature engineering process effectively capture Wi-Fi, Internet, and access network telemetry required for alerting, alarming, and analysis in daily operations.
  • Work with data engineers to optimize model inference pipelines for near-time performance, ensure the team has sufficient compute resources to conduct analysis and ML-approaches, and is optimally running.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and efficient storage of network telemetry for scalable ML Applications.
  • Work to continuously refine model performance, addressing issues such as false positives / negatives and computational efficiency.
  • Leverage statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and anomaly detection to improve customer experience and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations to upper leadership for improving internet reliability.
  • Partner with network engineering, customer operations, software development, CPE engineering, product, marketing, and field operations teams to integrate insights into operational workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience :
  • Six (6+) years system engineering experience.Six (6+) years Machine learning or data analytics experience.

  • Education :
  • Bachelor´s degree in electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.MLOps Certified Professional (MLOCP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or related certification.

  • Technical Skills :
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of statistical modeling, predictive analysis, and anomaly detection.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Internet, Wi-Fi, and network telemetry in an ISP, telecom, or enterprise networking environment. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP / IP, Wi-Fi 802.11, DNS, DHCP) and telemetry processing. Hand on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for ML deployment. Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, and Machine Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Pandas, Seaborn, Scikit).

  • Skills and Abilities :
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into business impacts. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced environments.

  • Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred Skills

  • SCTE Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in an ISP, telecom, or large-scale enterprise networking environment.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven network troubleshooting and automated root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with AIOps, MLOps, FinOps, and operationalizing ML models in production.
  • Experience managing a large team size of technical working staff.
  • Preferred Related Work Experience

  • Two (2+) years management or leadership experience.
