Seasonal Forestry Maintenance Preprofessional 2026

The Seasonal Forestry Maintenance Preprofessional position supports forestry staff in the care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and nursery stock throughout district preserves. It provide experience in arboriculture, native plant care, and land stewardship while providing training to complement technical education.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and other power and hand tools.
• Assist with planting, trimming, and removal of trees and shrubs.
• Support preserve and nursery maintenance, including arboricultural tasks, stream clearing, turf restoration, and general upkeep.
• Operate tractors and implements such as loaders, mounted mowers, and roto-tillers.
• Help maintain and operate drip irrigation systems within the native plant nursery.
• Assist with identifying and controlling invasive plant species.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Provide excellent support to staff and the public as needed.
