We're growing fast and expanding our capabilities across enterprise CMS and commerce platforms, including Optimizely, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, ContentStack, and others. To support this growth, we're looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team and lead the technical direction of high-impact client projects.

Position Summary : As a Solutions Architect at Whereoware, you'll lead the technical strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise websites and digital commerce platforms. You'll partner with clients, project managers, and development teams to define scalable, performant solutions across a variety of modern tech stacks. With Optimizely as a key platform, you will support headless, composable, and cloud-native solutions across multiple ecosystems.

This role is ideal for someone who can think strategically, architect clean solutions, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and guide delivery teams to successeven across unfamiliar platforms.

Responsibilities :

  • Translate business goals and user needs into scalable, secure, and performant technical solutions.
  • Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering with clients and internal teams.
  • Define technical architecture and documentation across CMS and commerce builds, including integrations, APIs, workflows, and deployment plans.
  • Evaluate platform fit for new buildsrecommending CMS or commerce systems based on client goals, scalability, and cost considerations.
  • Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle : estimation, planning, implementation, QA, deployment, and support.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the project.
  • Mentor development team members, share best practices, and contribute to team knowledge growth.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities early in the process.
  • Support pre-sales efforts by participating in technical scoping, solution design, and proposal development when needed.

What You Bring :

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or architecture roles.
  • 3+ years leading technical delivery on client-facing digital projects.
  • Deep architectural understanding of enterprise CMS and commerce platforms such as : Optimizely (formerly Episerver), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, ContentStack or similar headless CMS platforms.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and Next.js in a production environment.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and / or AWS, including infrastructure planning and cloud-native architecture.
  • Solid grasp of DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, environment management, and infrastructure as code (e.g., GitHub Actions, Terraform, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with headless, composable, and API-first architectures.
  • Experience integrating CMS / commerce systems with external services like CRMs, ERPs, PIMs, personalization engines, and analytics platforms.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful, large-scale digital projects on time and within scope.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for mentorship and helping developers grow in their careers.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility best practices.
  • Prior agency, consultancy, or multi-project delivery experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
