The Opportunity

Are you passionate about empowering students and driving inclusive change Monash University is seeking a Disability Officer to support accessibility and student success at Clayton campus.

The Disability Officer manages a full-time caseload of students including those identified as at risk providing tailored support and fostering independence and self-advocacy across the student community. The Disability Officer contributes to innovation by researching and recommending cutting-edge technologies to enhance academic support. Collaboration with colleagues sharing expertise and contributing to operational planning is a core part of elevating service delivery and informing the future of Disability Support Services.

To be successful the ideal candidate will have :

• A solid understanding of Commonwealth and State anti-discrimination legislation and a commitment to access and equity for people underrepresented in higher education
• A growth mindset and dedication to staying up to date with industry standards through relevant professional development and training
• Experience assessing and coordinating reasonable adjustments to enable success in higher education
• Proven ability to confidently engage with staff across the University and external organisations - negotiating influencing and building strong partnerships around disability support
• High level written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor content to a wide range of audiences
• A collaborative and self-directed approach to work comfortable working in a team or independently. Youll bring excellent organisational skills with the ability to set priorities manage time effectively meet deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy.
