Job Title : Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Location : Kankakee, Illinois 60901 (Chicago area nursing jobs)

Facility Setting : Acute Care, 31-bed Medical Telemetry Unit

Start Date : December 22, 2025

End Date : March 23, 2026

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour days (5 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement : Every other holiday

Scrub Color : Caribbean

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (required at time of application)

Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Medical-Surgical RN experience

EPIC charting experience required

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Valid Driver's License required for submission

Preferred : Previous travel nurse experience

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical conditions (CHF, stroke, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, cardiac issues)

Monitor and interpret telemetry readings (RNs read tele; centralized telemetry tech support provided)

Care for post-cath lab patients (radial band and femoral cath recovery)

Administer and monitor set rate IV drips (Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, octreotide)

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nurse aides and respiratory therapists

Float to medical-surgical or step-down units as needed to care for telemetry-level patients

Work in a supportive environment with Team Lead (days) and Charge Nurse (nights / weekends / holidays)

Complete a comprehensive 12-hour orientation shift specific to the telemetry unit
