Job Summary
The Globe is seeking a talented, energetic student to lead GGC's college newspaper. As a the editor-in-chief, the student in this position will lead a staff of student reporters and editors to produce news content related to the campus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Globe members and their designated tasks.
- Organize and facilitate Globe meetings.
- Oversee the production of content for publications and manage Globe members.
- Manage The Globe¿s RSO responsibilities such as paying for the website annually, updating Campus Groups, and communicating with GGC faculty / staff / administration as needed.
- Represent The Globe and its members at social functions
- Oversee online platforms (website & social media).
Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Successfully completed the Basic News Writing course or possess some journalism writing and reporting experience, either through The Globe or other news organizations.Ability to write and edit news storiesAbility to manage other students in a high stress, deadline-oriented workplace.Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of prior experience on The Globe.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite skills.USG Core Values
