Procurement Project Manager

Position Overview International is seeking a dedicated Procurement Project Manager to join our Project Management Office Team. This is a highly visible, challenging, and rewarding position in a supportive, fast-paced environment. The Procurement Project Manager leads cross-functional teams in executing supplier resourcing and relocation projects to support Category Management Team cost reduction initiatives. This role involves providing execution planning support, including milestone timing, for supplier resourcing and relocation projects, as well as leading expedited efforts to address supply shortages caused by supplier exits or bankruptcies. Additionally, the manager will coordinate procurement activities for major insourcing projects in collaboration with Manufacturing. Responsibilities include :

  • Leading cross-functional execution of supplier resourcing and relocation projects associated with Category Management Team cost reduction efforts
  • Providing support with execution planning (including key milestone timing) to Category Management teams for supplier resourcing and relocation projects
  • Leading expedited cross-functional execution of supplier resourcing projects to eliminate / mitigate supply shortages due to forced supplier exits or bankruptcies
  • Leading coordination of Procurement activities in support of major insourcing projects with Manufacturing
  • Developing detailed project plans and performing critical path analysis using Microsoft Project, as needed
  • Leading cross-functional resolution of a wide range of complex problems in innovative ways, including issues where precedent may not exist
  • Networking with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • Coordinating cross-functional risk and issues investigations and mitigation
  • May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to colleagues with less experience
  • Presenting project status to Senior Procurement management and Executive level audiences
  • Identifying needed resources for cross-functional project teams

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of purchasing / procurement experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience OR
  • Master's degree
  • At least 3 years of purchasing / procurement experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience OR
  • At least 8 years of purchasing / procurement experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis
  • Desired Skills :

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a strong commitment to work
  • Familiarity with truck and / or engine products and components is desirable
  • A strong understanding of procurement processes is desirable
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for reporting and status updates at all organizational levels
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proactive approach to solving complex problems
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Experience managing a project with cross-functional teams and suppliers in different regions
  • PMP preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt training and / or certification preferred
