Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Slitter Operator position for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. This will be a 12-hr day shift opening on a 3 / 2 rotating schedule from 7am-7pm : Sun / Wed / Thurs; Mon / Tues / Fri / Sat.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Slitter in order to :
• Ensure safety
• Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals
• Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectations
• Meet the highest of quality standards
• Communicate orally and / or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information
• Report production accurately and timely through Prism to include waste, time codes, raw materials, etc.
• Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations
• Manage the duties of an operator, including but not limited to :
• Prepare master rolls for slitting
• Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing
• Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold
• Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary)
• Remove and weigh startup rolls / materials at beginning of job
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift
• Remove and weigh all waste
• Keep trash waste separated from recycle materials
• Properly store all unused equipment
