Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (Healthcare Sciences)

Location : Huntsville, AL 35805

Shift(s) / Departments : Monday-Friday 4am-12pm (13 week assignment)

Job Description

  • Processing, embedding, cutting, staining and coverslipping.
  • Accessioning all specimens along with other team members.
  • Performing special stains, following protocols.
  • Putting slides together with requisitions - double checking for accuracy.
  • Cutting control slides.
  • Quality control.
  • Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures.
  • Must be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Primarily embedding and cutting of various specimens-derms / skins / GI, etc.

    • Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (Healthcare Sciences)

    Job Requirements

    Successful candidates for the Histotechnician / Histotechnologist include :

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in histology or related healthcare science field preferred.
  • ASCP Certification preferred not required
  • Must have experience cutting and embedding Derms / Skins, GI, and other specimens)
  • Must be comfortable to work independently
  • Ability to cut and embed about 100-120 blocks per shift
