About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing global legal strategy, risk management, and governance for the organization. This includes leading an in-house legal team and outside counsel, standardizing contracts and IP protection, overseeing global compliance frameworks, and advising the Board on legal matters. The role also involves setting and aligning legal strategy with enterprise growth, leading corporate governance, and managing legal aspects of strategic transactions. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, an active license in a US jurisdiction, and at least 15 years of corporate legal practice, with a strong background in commercial contracting, corporate governance, IP strategy, and global compliance. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active license to practice law in a US jurisdiction. A minimum of 15 years of corporate legal practice, with at least 8 years in-house in a multinational setting, is required. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in commercial contracting, corporate governance, IP strategy, and global compliance. Experience in leading legal teams, managing outside counsel, and exposure to chemical engineering businesses is preferred. The General Counsel will be expected to have a business-first judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead change in a cross-cultural environment. The position also requires the candidate to be adept at policy design and implementation, with a strong focus on legal and regulatory compliance.
