Your Impact
As the Safety Manager for Pearce's Telecom division , you will play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, accountability, and risk prevention across nationwide field operations. You'll lead a distributed team of safety professionals and partner closely with Telecom leadership to reduce incidents, enforce compliance, and embed proactive safety practices into daily field activities. Your work will directly impact technician engagement, customer satisfaction, and the long-term success of Pearce's telecom business.
Core Responsibilities
Field & Incident Safety Leadership
Implement targeted safety action plans to reduce injury rates, with emphasis on struck-by and vehicle incidents.
Lead investigations for all recordable and serious incidents, perform root cause analysis, and oversee corrective action close-outs.
Maintain strong field presence through site visits, job observations, and technician coaching on safety procedures, situational awareness, and PPE compliance.
Review telematics (Lytx) data to identify unsafe driving behaviors and collaborate with operations to enforce defensive driving standards.
Training & Compliance
Support delivery of hands-on and refresher training in high-risk areas including climbing, rigging, and electrical work.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and client-specific safety requirements , including LOTO, fall protection, hazard communication, and driving protocols.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, training, and inspections to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Data-Driven Risk Mitigation
Leverage safety observations, near-misses, and leading indicators to anticipate risks and prevent future incidents.
Monitor performance trends across the Telecom division and report actionable insights to leadership.
Supervision & Team Development
Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of Safety Specialists / Coordinators across the U.S.
Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and hold the team accountable for timely investigations, corrective actions, and field engagement.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure adequate geographic coverage and responsiveness.
Foster a culture of accountability, coaching, and proactive risk prevention across the safety team.
Core Experience & Qualifications
Required Background
3–5 years of EHS / safety experience in telecom, utilities, or construction; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 / 1926 , climbing safety standards, and vehicle safety programs.
Hands-on experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and hazard mitigation .
Experience using vehicle telematics platforms (e.g., Lytx) for coaching and enforcement.
Proven ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and implement improvements.
Skilled at leading tough accountability conversations while maintaining trust.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; experienced in compliance documentation and audit support.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS systems.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to field sites nationwide.

At Pearce, we are committed to fair and transparent pay practices. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
In addition to wages, employees may also be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool / equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation. Base Pay Range
95,000—$120,000 USD
