Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Provide seamless chair-side support to an experienced orthodontists using efficient four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms meticulously, ensuring all instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and ready for use following standard protocol
  • Promptly break down and reset treatment rooms post-procedure, returning instruments for immediate sterilization
  • Organize and set up procedure trays according to the day's patient charts and expected treatments
  • Daily morning meeting and team schedule review, anticipating the doctor's needs in advance
  • Greet, seat, and screen patients - communicating patient concerns effectively to the doctor
  • Review patient charts and maintain patient records, ensuring they are up to date
  • Provide patient education on proper care and maintenance of orthodontic appliances
  • Take quality diagnostic records consisting of intra and extraoral photographs, intraoral scanning using the iTero scanner, panoramic, cephalometric, and 3D / CBCT x-rays as needed
  • Assist the orthodontist during patient procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces, wires, appliances, Invisalign, and retainers.
  • Ensure operatories are consistently well-stocked and organized to support efficient patient care
  • Manage inventory and order materials as needed
