Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced QA Plating Engineer with a background in the aerospace and defense connector industry. This role supports the quality and compliance of critical electroplated components used in mission-critical applications. Experience with NADCAP plating audits, MIL-spec requirements, and high-reliability connector plating (gold, nickel, tin) is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee quality of plating operations (electroplating, electroless, passivation) per MIL-specs and customer drawings.

Perform FAI, dimensional inspections, and plating thickness checks (XRF, microscopy, etc.).

Train plating operators and inspectors on technical plating concepts, defect identification, and inspection procedures.

Support NADCAP and AS9100 audit prep and documentation.

Lead MRB, NCR, and RCCA activities with suppliers and internal teams.

Develop and maintain process documentation, including plating work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, bath maintenance logs, and control charts (SPC).

Execute root cause investigations for plating defects (e.g., poor adhesion, blistering, pitting, underplating, excessive thickness) using tools like 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.

Requirements :

3–5+ years in quality engineering specific to connector or component plating for aerospace / defense.

Strong knowledge of NADCAP plating processes, AS9100, MIL-specs (e.g., MIL-DTL-38999).

Familiarity with gold / nickel / tin plating on copper, brass, and stainless substrates.

Experience in high-mix, low-volume environments with strict traceability and cleanliness standards.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : Salary : Commensurate with experience; to be discussed in interview.

  • Education :

    Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in one of the following fields :

    Materials Science and Engineering

    Chemical Engineering

    Metallurgical Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering (if experienced with surface finishing or connector systems)

    Chemistry (especially for roles focused on plating bath analysis and chemistry control)
