Enterprise Data Architect

Position Summary

The Enterprise Data Architect is an experienced and forward-thinking position designed to implement institutional data architecture. This role will be central to organizing our campus-wide data ecosystem and preparing the College for an enterprise data repository such as a data warehouse or data lake. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing scalable data systems, enabling cross-functional data access, and supporting analytics and decision-making across the institution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess current state of data across departments and systems (e.g., Banner, Workday, Canvas, Salesforce)
• Design and document enterprise data architecture, including target state diagrams, data flows, and integration models
• Develop strategies for implementing a data warehouse, data lake, or hybrid model based on institutional needs
• Define and promote data standards, metadata management, and governance principles
• Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Institutional Research, Enrollment, Finance, and Academic Affairs to understand reporting and analytics needs
• Partner with vendors or consultants as needed to evaluate and deploy data infrastructure platforms
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business units to ensure alignment with architecture
• Develop data security and privacy strategies aligned with FERPA and institutional policy
