Application Developer

A notable a full-service technology firm is looking for an Application Developer that will provide technical support and software expertise to enable the efficient development, deployment, and maintenance of custom applications. This role will be in support of the Congressional Budget office and will work closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues, implement performance enhancements, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions in a mission-critical environment.

Place of Performance : Ford Building, Downtown Washington, DC

Work Schedule : Standard work week, Monday through Friday – days on-site

Clearance Requirements : Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Tier clearance (background check required).

Key Responsibilities :

Provide full-stack development support using C, MVC, Core, Web API, JavaScript, and related technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain custom applications and backend services.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application environments.

Develop, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs and web services using Core Web API.

Implement responsive and interactive UI components using JavaScript, jQuery, , and Bootstrap.

Automate operational tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.

Design and maintain SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and functions.

Leverage GitHub Enterprise for version control and CI / CD pipelines.

Apply security best practices across application design and implementation.

Support other technical tasks as assigned in support of operational goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Strong experience in C, MVC, Core, and Web API development.

Expertise in front-end development using JavaScript, jQuery, , Bootstrap, and CSS.

Solid understanding of RESTful services and modern API architecture.

Demonstrated experience with relational databases and advanced SQL, including stored procedures and performance tuning.

Familiarity with Core middleware, dependency injection, Razor views, and security features (auth / authz / data protection).

Experience in jQuery DOM manipulation, AJAX methods, and plugin integration.

Proficiency with responsive design principles and Bootstrap grid / component systems.

Experience automating tasks and workflows using Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.

Experience with GitHub Enterprise for source control and collaborative development.

Preferred Education :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Preferred Certifications :

Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP)

ISC)² CSSLP – Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional
