American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department assignment requiring a WA or Compact RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care Emergency Department with a 56-bed unit, expandable to 60-70 bedsPatient population includes cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, AMS, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health casesStaff ratios are typically 1 : 3, or 1 : 4 with low acuityFast track area with 6 beds and separate 5-bed triage area; triage testing may be required for travelers18 designated ER hold beds for inpatients; separate locked psych area with 6 roomsUtilizes Epic EMR, and Epic experience is preferredUse of specialized RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP; RTs complete ABGs and ED Techs perform EKGsMonitor techs available; RNs read stripsRadiology adjacent to the ED and available transport supportShift is 12 hours, evenings from 3p-3aEvery other weekend and holiday coverage in Nov / Dec requiredNo call or standby requirementsNo floating required for this assignmentDress code allows any professional scrub colorRNs manage their own ER holds, but inpatient RNs may float in as needed to assistComprehensive orientation provided, including compliance review and departmental trainingIn-house security and support staff such as ED techs and CNAs availableMust be able to work one holiday in Nov / Dec if requested, depending on unit needsNo RTO will be approved during the first full week of the assignmentAny professional color scrubs permitted\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or Compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; will consider travelers with 1 year in larger trauma settingsCurrent certifications needed : ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSSTwo professional references required : one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCopy of driver's license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
