Safety Coordinator
Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our office in Houston, TX.

As a Safety Coordinator at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will have the opportunity to :
- Maintain a SAFE job site, monitor safety and take appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies
- Assist supervisor(s) with job site start-up
- Coordinate with Project overhead team and owners, as needed
- Assess Safety needs for training purposes
- Schedule and implement established training programs
- Ensure training requirements are adhered to and maintain all training documentation
- Monitor sub-contractor safety performance
- Ensure Project(s) monthly safety statistics are reviewed for accuracy and forwarded to the Division Safety Manager for transmitting to the Corporate Safety Director
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist with the Company substance abuse testing program
- Assist the General Superintendent with the development and monitoring of the job-specific safety plan
- Create and distribute the minutes of the safety committee meetings
- Review accident procedures with the Superintendent and project Foremen
- Maintain the Company's SDS and Haz-Com program
- Complete incident reports for documentation and distribution
- Maintain the Company weekly toolbox safety topic records
- Receive and monitor subcontractor safety reports when applicable
- Monitor all accident reporting and maintain appropriate file records
- Conduct Safety project safety audits and coach supervisors and employees
- Attend continuing education courses to develop leadership and coaching skills
Requirements :
OSHA-500 Authorized Outreach Trainer is desired.Minimum five (5) years of experience in commercial electrical construction and construction safetyA combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of OSHA-500OSHA-30 mandatoryAbility to work cohesively with all construction groupsmanagement, owners, trades and subcontractorsMust have excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and problem solving skillsSpecial skills : Strong knowledge of MS Office Suites : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.Ability to understand and apply electrical construction best practices to ensure electrical safety in the workplace is achieved at the work site, and the ability to apply the safety principles found in the NFPA-70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the WorkplaceAbility to read and understand electrical drawings and the application of electrical safety mitigation processes for employee safetyFamiliarity with occupational safety and health regulationsCurrent certification in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross or its equivalentMust be able to meet the Company's minimum standard for Company vehicle driversMust be able to meet any customer's badging / background requirementsMust be proficient and able to provide extensive in-person safety training and mentoring to field employees in confined spaces, electrical safety, forklift, lock-out / tag-out, hazardous communication, ladder safety, excavation, trench safety, fall protection, respiratory protection, and other topics as requiredFisk Electric builds extraordinary projects and we need exceptional talent.
