Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to join our dynamic team in Huntington Beach, CA.

This position will support Electronic & Intelligence Systems (E&IS) a dynamic business within BDS Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) focused on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. The selected candidate will support the Integrated Missions (IM) portfolio area which defines, designs, and delivers combined platforms, payloads, and integrated technology solutions for complex missions across various domains. IM includes Acoustic Programs focused on underwater acoustic systems including Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Proprietary programs, Extra Large Uncrewed Undersea Vehicle (XLUUV) future missions / payloads and Liquid Robotics subsidiary.

The Senior Program Manager will support the Acoustic Programs team with day-to-day functions, new business development, IPT leadership, forward business planning, giving status to upper management, and execution of the four program areas. Acoustic Programs includes four primary program elements. Development programs which consist of the full software / system engineering lifecycle to develop, integration to targeted hardware, software deployment and maintenance. This software and hardware are targeted at the detection and tracking of underwater targets. Production programs which define, develop, manage suppliers and maintain hardware to support an ASW mission on the P-8A platform. Training Systems programs which develop the acoustic training element for multiple types of mission level trainers and associated hardware. Advance programs which support multiple types of advanced acoustic domain programs including IRD, international, new hardware design and development, new business and cross Boeing business support.

Position Responsibilities :

Manages employees and first-level managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management

Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan

Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

5+ years’ experience in Program Management or IPT Leadership including cost, schedule and technical management

5+ years’ experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)

Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects

Experience with the full lifecycle execution of software, hardware and / or system engineering targeted programs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

Experience with anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW), or maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems

Experience with and / or support of multiple platforms used to support underwater acoustics including P-3, P-8A, MH-60R, submarines and Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs)

Experience with export-related material and international customers

Experience working with U.S. Government customers

Strong experience in managing relationships with business leaders, leading complex portfolio of engagements, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions

Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees

Work Location :

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel :

Position may require travel up to 15% of the time.

Summary pay range : USD $168,300 – $227,700

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
