Associated Students UCLA as a responsive student-centered organization provides innovative and excellent services programs products and facilities for the entire UCLA community. ASUCLA was created when the campus first opened in 1919. Even in the very early years ASUCLA meant student government student publications and student services such as a bookstore and cafeteria. Today ASUCLA has evolved into a four-part organization. These four entities collectively make up the largest student association in the country. The four entities are :

• Undergraduate Students Association elected representatives of the undergraduate student body.
• Graduate Students Association elected representatives of the graduate student body.
• Student Media this includes the Daily Bruin the Bruin Life Yearbook and seven different magazines.
• Services & Enterprises this division is designed to meet the everyday needs of students and the campus community. Major divisions are the Student Union Event Services UCLA Restaurants UCLA Store UCLA Photography and Trademarks & Licensing.

Goals of Associated Students UCLA :

Products -To provide essential and convenient items that are easily accessible of high quality and low cost including but not limited to academic support food trademark merchandise and convenience addition to continue evaluating the utility and convenience of all products to make improvements that will best serve the UCLA community.

Facilities -To provide a welcoming environment that contains as much space as possible for the optimal functioning of general academic support student governments student organizations and social gatherings. To have state-of-the-art venues for programming and efficient aesthetic and multi-functional commercial outlets.

Programs -To provide and support a diversified array of programming by prioritizing student-run student-initiated student-centered programming that reflects the needs of the campus community in order to enhance educational cultural and developmental social interaction.

Services -To provide an outstanding level of support to student government student groups and student programs through the state-of-the-art office and community spaces and by providing adequate financial resources and personnel to ensure an active and vibrant campus life.

Food Service Training Coordinator

Salary Range : $47500- $57000

Summary of Key Responsibilities :

Under direction of the Quality Assurance Assistant Director is responsible for interviewing hiring initial scheduling orientation training and onboarding of all new Food Service student employees. This position will prepare develop manage coordinate and conduct all training programs for student new hires on Division policies and procedures and use the best training methods for a specific purpose; gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify improvement opportunities and areas that need additional training.

This position will design and produce training aids (case studies simulations games videos etc.) and support material for training modules; attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions; responsible for ensuring that all student employees receive the required training; support and mentor new employees; manage training budgets; and periodically monitor employee performance and response to initial training. Additionally the position will coordinate to have all new employees take UCLA mandated training sessions such as but not limited to Hazard Communication Heat and Illness Prevention Injury and Illness Prevention Health and Safety etc. and ensure ASUCLA is incompliance with policy. Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule work independently and communicate regularly with direct supervisor on status of all training programs. Must have a professional appearance and be a team player. Performs special assignments. Hours include evenings weekends and variable shifts.

Qualifications :

Requires 2 years quick service restaurant management experience. Experience must demonstrate : effective supervision of a large staff; excellent organizational skills and presentation skills in all media including verbal written and technology-based; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word Excel and PowerPoint; excellent time management skills public speaking skills problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills; exceptional organization skills leadership and interpersonal skills and passion for helping others; strong communication skills positive attitude; effective follow through on assignments and projects; ability to work with a team and have attention to detail; ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data. BA / BS (preferably in hotel / restaurant management) required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Directly and indirectly supervises part-time / student staff.
