Machine Design Enginer - Automation

Overview

We're seeking a Machine Design Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to design custom automated machinery used in complex manufacturing environments. This role involves hands-on work with 3D modeling, motion systems, and component selection in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design custom automation systems, including material handling and assembly equipment

Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks

Select mechanical components, materials, pneumatics, and actuators

Collaborate with controls engineers and project teams

Support machine build and commissioning

Conduct risk analysis and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field

3–5 years’ mechanical design experience, preferably in automation or machinery

Strong proficiency with SolidWorks

Knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, and design for manufacturability

Familiarity with pneumatic / hydraulic systems

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, and systems integration
