Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Process Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating maintaining and optimizing automated wire processing machines. The ideal candidate will support process development ensure production quality and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment.
- This position will start off in our Greensboro facility but will move to our new Burlington facility in the next few months. Position will train on first shift and then move to second shift. Hours will likely be Monday-Friday 1pm-10pm.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate automated wire processing machines for wire cutting stripping crimping and bundling
Set up and adjust machine parameters based on job specifications and engineering documentationPerform routine maintenance mechanical adjustments troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performanceCollaborate with engineering to develop and refine wire processing workflows and tooling setupsMonitor production output for quality and consistency; perform in-process inspections and document resultsMaintain accurate records of machine settings production runs and material usageSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations or equipment issuesParticipate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projectsRequirements
Required Qualifications :
Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing electronics or mechanical engineering preferred
2 years of experience operating wire processing equipment or similar automation systemsStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of electromechanical systemsProficiency in reading technical drawings schematics and work instructionsBasic understanding of crimp force monitoring terminal validation and quality control toolsAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamExcellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and qualityComfortable using computers and following digital instructionsSelf-motivated with a strong willingness to learnPhysically able to stand crouch and lift throughout the workdayPreferred Qualifications :
Previous experience with wire processing equipment and job file management
Knowledge of UL wire types and terminal specificationsKnowledge of UL processed wire standards and traceabilityFamiliarity with ERP and MES integrated systemsBasic understanding of lean manufacturing statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma principlesBenefits
