The Senior Structural Estimator will develop accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel and ship repair projects. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to be a key contributor to high-profile bids and project wins.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural fabrication, ship repair, and industrial projects
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and subcontractors to gather necessary data
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews
- Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness and competitiveness
- Present bid proposals to leadership and clients
- Maintain a database of historical costs to refine future estimates
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to department improvements
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in marine, industrial, or heavy construction environmentsDeep knowledge of structural steel repair and fabrication techniquesProficient with estimating software and Microsoft ExcelAbility to read and interpret ship repair drawings and specificationsStrong attention to detail and time management skillsExperience with NAVSEA, U.S. Navy, or government contract standards is a plusDegree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferredPreferred Experience :
Experience in shipyards or marine constructionFamiliarity with government or military contractsKnowledge of coatings, insulation, or preservation services is a plusBenefits
