Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Business Objects Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the installation and migration of a Business Objects (SAP BO) instance from one data center to another. This role is critical to ensuring business continuity, data integrity, and performance optimization during the transition.

Key Responsibilities :

Installation & Configuration

Install and configure SAP Business Objects in the target data center environment.

Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and security protocols.

Migration Planning & Execution

Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy including cutover plans, rollback procedures, and validation checklists .

Migrate SAP BO Universes, reports, and associated metadata from the legacy environment to the new data center .

Adjust SAP BO Universes to remove Oracle-specific functionality and non-migrated objects .

Data Validation & Testing

Perform unit and scenario testing to validate usability and performance of migrated Business Objects .

Collaborate with QA teams to ensure data quality tracking and reconciliation.

Documentation & Compliance

Prepare technical documentation including SOPs, migration logs, and post-migration reports.

Ensure compliance with audit requirements, data governance policies, and change management processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with infrastructure teams, application owners, and business stakeholders to coordinate migration activities.

Provide regular status updates and risk assessments to project leadership.

Required Skills & Experience :

Proven expertise in SAP Business Objects installation, configuration, and migration.

Experience with data center transitions, including cloud and hybrid environments.

Strong understanding of ETL processes, data validation, and SAP load utilities (, LSMW).

Familiarity with Oracle to BigQuery or similar platform transitions is a plus .

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications :

SAP BO certification or equivalent experience.

Experience with SAP Data Services, BigQuery, or Data Fusion.

Knowledge of data governance tools such as Collibra.
