Design Engineer | Code the Future of AV Control Systems

At LMG Systems Innovation (LMGSI) , we create more than permanent AV installations—we engineer precision, reliability, and cutting-edge experiences that redefine how people connect, collaborate, and communicate. As part of the Entertainment Technology Partners family, we deliver seamless AV systems to universities, government facilities, corporate boardrooms, and immersive environments across the country.

We’re seeking a Design Engineer with a sharp technical mind, a passion for AV innovation, and the ability to program and configure control processors, DSPs, codecs, and network systems to ensure flawless system functionality from concept to commissioning.

What You’ll Be Doing :

As a Design Engineer, you’ll bridge the gap between design intent and system functionality—programming, testing, and supporting integrated AV solutions both in the field and remotely. Your work ensures everything from UI design to network configuration runs smoothly, aligns with project goals, and exceeds client expectations.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with sales and design engineers to define project scope and technical workflow.
  • Review sales orders, manufacturer resources, manuals, schematics, and control protocols to prepare for programming.
  • Develop and refine UI designs and associated documentation; submit for approval and implement feedback.
  • Write, troubleshoot, and modify program code for full integration of AV systems.
  • Perform firmware updates, system tests, debugging, and final commissioning—both in-house and on-site.
  • Work with pre-existing code for troubleshooting, service calls, and system enhancements.

Network & System Configuration :

  • Configure and manage computer networks, including IP schemes, VLANs, and device routing.
  • Document all configurations and maintain clear network infrastructure records.
  • Interface with manufacturer tech support to resolve issues and process RMAs as needed.
  • Collaboration & Communication :

  • Maintain regular updates with internal teams on project status, punch list items, and ongoing issues using Microsoft Teams or similar platforms.
  • Keep all programming files and documentation securely backed up to approved network drives.
  • Uphold organizational standards for version control, documentation, and compliance.
  • Tools & Technologies You’ll Work With :

  • Control Systems : Crestron, AMX, Extron.
  • DSPs : QSC, Biamp.
  • Video Conferencing & Codecs : Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex.
  • Networking : IP address management, VLAN configuration, AV-over-IP systems.
  • Other : Familiarity with APIs, control protocols, and debugging techniques.
  • What You Bring to the Table :

  • Proven experience with AV system programming, DSP configuration, and network setup.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Clear communication and documentation habits.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to provide support in the field and remotely as needed.
  • Why Join Us?

  • Impactful Work : Bring permanent AV systems to life in high-profile environments.
  • Team-Oriented Culture : Collaborate with driven engineers and tech experts.
  • Professional Growth : Expand your knowledge across AV technology and network infrastructure.
  • Competitive Benefits : PTO, medical / dental / vision insurance, 401(k), FSA, and more.
  • LMGSI is a Tobacco-Free and Drug-Free Organization and an Equal Opportunity Employer. We participate in E-Verify and comply with all applicable leave laws, including FMLA. Learn more about FMLA here .
